FoodDrinkEurope UNSDGs

The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are an intergovernmental set of 17 Goals with 169 targets which are a core part of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The 2030 Agenda is a universal agreement and, with regards to its implementation, it is relying on action by all countries (developed and developing) mobilising governments, institutions and stakeholders (citizens, civil society, private sector, academia, etc.), at all levels.

Within this context, FoodDrinkEurope and its members are actively working towards implementing the UN SDGs. However, implementing the key goals and targets can’t be done independently and will require key partnerships along the food chain and beyond. Cooperation with key institutions and agencies at European and global level are thus essential in order to foster positive results.

We believe that the establishment of the Commission high-level multi-stakeholder platform on the implementation of the SDGs at European level, where FoodDrinkEurope is a member, is a positive example demonstrating this.

FoodDrinkEurope and its members are committed to promote sustainable practices and implementing the targets set within the SDGs strengthening the links between food, people and the planet

This living website aims at communicating and sharing FoodDrinkEurope and its members’ initiatives towards the achievement of the SDGs where we can make the most differences through our actions.
