FoodDrinkEurope is an active supporter of working in partnerships in order to contribute to the overall achievement of the SDGs at local, European and global level. We believe that the establishment of the Commission high-level multi-stakeholder platform on the implementation of the SDGs is a positive example demonstrating this. Additionally, in order to deliver and move forward on the sustainability agenda, FoodDrinkEurope believes that it is crucial to work very closely with all the actors of the food supply chain.
Trade contributes to growth, jobs and socio-economic development around the world. It supports EU food and drink manufacturing businesses of all sizes (small, medium-sized and large), linked upstream and downstream activities across supply chains, and contributes to the diversity and availability of food and drink products worldwide.
FoodDrinkEurope is firmly committed to supporting the implementation of the SDG 17.10. We will do this by our continued support for an effective, transparent and modern rules-based multilateral trading system administered by the World Trade Organisation (WTO), in parallel to our support for a coherent and ambitious EU trade policy.
